We began working with Loeb Smith several years ago. As the director of the company, I must express my deep disappointment with the service we received — both from the firm in general and specifically from its director, Gerry Smith. The quality of the legal services provided turned out to be far below what was initially promised. We signed an agreement stating that Loeb Smith would provide full legal support and guide us through the process of obtaining a VASP license in the Cayman Islands. We consistently paid all invoices they issued. However, at a certain point, they completely stopped communicating with us. For over nine months, we have received no updates on the status of our application. Our emails go unanswered, and we have no timeline or visibility into the licensing process. This has been, by far, the worst service experience I have ever had in the legal field. Despite the radio silence, their accounting team continues to send us invoices for maintaining the company — even though we have repeatedly told them that we do not need a shelf company. Our sole objective was to obtain the license. As a result, we’ve wasted over a year of time, incurred significant financial losses, and feel misled. Gerry Smith himself claimed early in the process that he would help us secure the license within seven months. That promise was never fulfilled. He failed to deliver, and in my personal opinion, I would strongly advise others against working with this firm.
